About the Interpreter
Joaquin was born in the US, grew up in Mexico, and lived in France for four years. He has been working as a translator since moving to Brazil in 1985 and as a conference interpreter since 2005.
He has worked as a conference interpreter for the World Health Organization (WHO), World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), Central Bank of Brazil (BACEN), Petrobras and large national and multinational corporations. Prominent individuals he has interpreted include Barack Obama, Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, Geraldo Alckmin, Pedro Malan, Antônio Delfim Netto, Deepak Chopra, Amyr Klink and Tadeu Schmidt.
Joaquin is experienced in medicine (orthopedics, plastic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, pharmaceuticals, radiology and veterinary medicine), finance, business administration, human resources and market research. In manufacturing, he is especially versed in petroleum refining, mining, telecommunications, IT and the automotive industry.
